Corinne Cannon is the Founder and Executive Director of DC Diaper Bank, which she began in 2010 to provide diapers, food, and other hygiene essentials to low-income families in the Washington metro area. DC Diaper Bank currently distributes 120,000+ diapers, along with formula and food, every month through a growing network of social service agencies and reaches more than 4,000 families each month. Corinne has been recognized locally and nationally for her innovative work to help families. Recently Corinne was selected as a 2015 CNN Hero, named as a 2014 L’Oreal Paris Woman of Worth, awarded a 2014 Tea Collection Inspiring Mom award, honored as a Johnson & Johnson’s 2014 Champion of Care, and named a 2014 Money magazine Money Hero. Before founding DC Diaper Bank, Corinne worked in formal and informal education at the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum, National Building Museum, and Newseum. She has also working in low-income housing and health communications. She has more than 15 years experience in program management and curriculum creation. Corinne attended Trinity University in DC and holds a BA and Masters in Teaching from the school. Additionally, she earned a MSc in Cognitive Anthropology from the London School of Economics. Corinne lives with her husband Jay and their three young children on Capitol Hill.
